Employee Attacks Security Guard At South Bay Restaurant: Police

Police are asking for the public's help in finding the employee who left the restaurant before officers arrived.

TORRANCE, CA — Police say they are searching for an employee of a South Bay Benihana who is accused of assaulting a security guard at the restaurant Monday night.

The attack started around 8:20 p.m. when the manager of the restaurant in Torrance asked the employee to leave, but he refused, according to authorities.

A security guard tried to escort the employee out of the restaurant and that's when the assault happened, according to the Torrance Police Department.

Video posted on Instagram by KCAL News appears to show the worker throwing plates and punches at the security guard before onlookers intervene.

Police say the assault left the security guard with face and head injuries. They were treated at the scene by the Torrance Fire Department, they added.

The employee left the area before officers arrived, and police say they're still looking for them.
