Gas Prices Keep Dropping

The average price of a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline drops for the fifth day in a row.

The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline has fallen for the fifth day in a row after rising 43 times in 45 days.

Wednesday's half-cent decrease left the average price at $4.271 per gallon, which is about a seven-tenths of a cent less than it was last week, according to AAA and the Oil Price Information Service. Nevertheless, gas still costs nearly 10 cents more than it did last month and $1.128 more than it did last year.

The record price of $4.614 per gallon was set in June 2008.

There are still stations in and around Redondo Beach that sell regular gas for less than $4.20 and premium for less than $4.40. Prices are user-submitted to GasBuddy.com within the past 24 hours.
