Irish Fair Coming To This South Bay Park For 50th Anniversary

The Irish Fair will celebrate its 50th anniversary on Father's Day weekend, according to event organizers.

TORRANCE, CA — Feel the luck of the Irish Father's Day Weekend with a two-day celebration at Wilson Park in Torrance.

The Irish Fair is coming for the first time to Wilson Park on June 14 and 15, celebrating its 50th anniversary and featuring family-friendly events, including a dance competition, sheep herding and a "whimsical" leprechaun village, according to event organizers.

"The Irish Fair was started for the purpose of bringing the Irish community together, and introducing our heritage to surrounding communities so their families can experience the sights, sounds, and tastes of Ireland," Griffin Healy, the founder of the event, said in a statement Monday.

There will also be live musical performances from bands such as Silgo Rags, Brick Top Blaggers and the Celtic Harp Orchestra, according to event organizers.

The fair will run from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday. For a schedule of the musical performances, click here.
