Plus-Size Retailer Brings Model Search To South Bay

TORRANCE, CA — Plus-size apparel retailer Torrid is kicking off its nationwide model search on Saturday at Del Amo Fashion Center.

Women sizes 10 to 30 are welcome to join the live casting call on May 4 starting at 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. Participants have the chance to be featured in a Torrid campaign photoshoot, receive a wardrobe for one year, a cash prize of $2,000 and an opportunity to sign with a global talent agency.

"Whether you're a curvy queen or a style icon, embrace your true self and seize the opportunity to become the next Torrid sensation," officials at Torrid said.

At the event, guests will experience makeup and hair touches from a dedicated glam squad, tips from professional photographers and onsite giveaways including discounts, raffle prizes and wardrobe upgrades. Participants will also be able to get modeling shots from professional photographers.

This is the first in-person casting call for the nationwide search, which will include more than 100 live castings across North America.
