More Than 5,000 Customers Lose Power In South Bay

A blown transformer prompted power outages across the South Bay Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

REDONDO BEACH, CA — A blown transformer prompted power outages for more than 5,000 customers across several areas of Torrance and south Redondo Beach Tuesday afternoon, officials said.

Many traffic signals are also without power at about 1:15 p.m. Tuesday, officials said. So Cal Edison is on scene and working to restore power.

Eastbound traffic on Camino Real at the city limit of Torrance, near Knob Hill Avenue, is closed, officials said.

Also, Torrance PD has closed westbound traffic on Sepulveda Boulevard (Camino Real) before Palos Verdes Boulevard.
