Redondo Beach Police Dog Trials Canceled
The department cites budget issues as the reason for the cancellation.

The has cancelled its 24th Annual K-9 trials due to statewide "budgetary constraints," spokesman Sgt. Phil Keenan said in a news release Friday.
The competition was scheduled for May 7 at .
According to Keenan, other police dog competitions throughout the state have been canceled.
"The Redondo Beach Police Department will continue sponsoring the K-9 trials in the future as the region's economic health improves," Keenan wrote.
The narcotics portion of the event, which is closed to the public, was not canceled.
Last year, 16 officers and police dogs from across the state .
