City Rises to 2nd Place in Mayor's Challenge
The contest challenges cities to convince their residents to conserve water and reduce waste.

Redondo Beach has risen from the No. 4 to the No. 2 slot in the , which encourages Southern Californians to take the organization's Clean Water Pledge.
The pledge asks residents to conserve water and reduce waste by fixing leaky faucets and composting.
The city with the highest percentage of residents who take the pledge wins the challenge. Prizes include Disneyland passes and tickets to a Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim game.
