School District Suspends Plans for IB Program

Redondo Beach Unified School District has put plans to implement the International Baccalaureate program at Redondo Union High School.

Redondo Beach Unified School District has suspended plans to apply for the International Baccalaureate program, the Easy Reader reported Thursday.

The decision comes several weeks after more than 50 Redondo Union teachers, including multiple department chairs, to protest the cost of the program, especially during budget cuts.

The teachers also said the program was somewhat redundant, considering the high school always has an award-winning Advanced Placement program.
