HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Construction crews will be working to repair a sinkhole and drainpipe in Hermosa Beach for the next few days, prompting the closure of Valley Drive, according to city officials.

Repairs started Monday and will continue through Friday, according to city officials. Currently, Valley Drive from Gould Avenue to 25th Street is closed, and detours are in place.

City officials also warned community members that they may hear some construction noise throughout the week, along with some dust and smells connected with the repairs.

City officials say that the area of Valley Drive will see impacts to traffic, and detours have been put in place. (City of Hermosa Beach)

"Work includes sawcut of asphalt pavement, installation of a new storm drainpipe, and restoration of the pavement and striping," Hermosa Beach city officials said in a statement Monday.

The Hermosa Beach Rotary Club, which is near the closure area, will remain accessible, city officials added.
