Teacher Recognition: Kathleen Madden

Kathleen Madden teaches learning strategies management at Redondo Union High School.

Kathleen Madden, a Learning Strategies Management teacher at , is one of "the most helpful, understanding teachers my son [has] ever had," according to parent Leticia Moreno.

Redondo Beach Patch is recognizing Madden's contribution to local students as part of .

As part of the LSM program, which she's taught for 8 years at different schools, Madden helps students improve "their organization, work habits and self-advocacy skills," according to the program's website.

Madden "has continually gone out of her way to accommodate my son and my schedule," Moreno wrote to Patch. "She should be recognized for the efforts she makes to help her students and parents achieve in school and to make sure any students that need accommodations have them met."

Now in her 11th year of teaching, Madden has also taught physical education, health, pre-algebra, reading and English. This is her fourth year at Redondo Union.
