Unreleased Surf Rock Tracks From 90s South Bay Concert To Drop This Week

The release of the new album will be accompanied by a special celebration and show on Thursday at Hermosa Beach's Lighthouse Cafe.

HERMOSA BEACH, CA — Missed out on an exclusive '90s concert in Hermosa Beach, or simply weren't born at a time when surf rock was making waves across the South Bay?

The Lighthouse Cafe in Hermosa Beach is offering the opportunity to make up for lost time and experiences on Thursday during a free special celebration and show that will align with the drop of an unreleased surf rock record — Legends of Surf Guitar, according to Hermosa Beach officials.

The record is made up of live recordings captured during a concert at The Lighthouse Cafe on April 1, 1995.

The album, a tribute to a time that defined surf music, features 25 tracks and bands such as The Chantays, The Surfers, David Allan and The Surf Raiders.

The record will be available for purchase at the event on Thursday, which will take place from 5 to 7:30 p.m. There will also be live music from local surf band The Royal Rats, according to city officials.
