View Redondo Beach's Highest Paid Workers: CA State Controller's List For 2024

REDONDO BEACH, CA — Who gets paid the most to work in Manhattan Beach? According to a report released Wednesday by the California Controller's Office, the 10 highest-paid officials work in public safety and other city government offices.

The agency recently published its 2024 "Government Compensation in California" analysis, which shows how taxpayer funds were spent in the previous year and who received what for being on the public payroll.

"This report is a vital tool in promoting fiscal transparency and accountability in local government," Controller Malia Cohen said. "Californians deserve to know how public funds are being spent and who is being paid with their tax dollars."

The individual who received the most significant income in Redondo Beach was the fire captain, who received nearly $400,000 in wages in 2024, according to the California Controller's Office

The other highest-paid employees were the city attorney and city manager, followed by positions in the fire and police departments.

The city attorney and city manager remain the second and third, respectively, highest-paid government employees in Redondo Beach. The city attorney made $339,412 in 2024.

The city clerk, meanwhile, made $160,931. Other elected officials, including the Mayor, made just under $30,000

Redondo Beach maintained 794 government positions in 2024, paying out $56,002,221 in wages, according to the California Controller's Office.
