2 Arrests and 21 Citations Issued At DUI Checkpoint In San Mateo County: Police

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two people were arrested for a DUI at a checkpoint Saturday and Sunday near Redwood City and an additional 21 citations were issued, police said.

The checkpoint time and location was announced earlier in the week.

Two people were arrested for a DUI and one person was cited for an outstanding warrant on Saturday and Sunday.

The checkpoints were at El Camino Real and Carlos Street from 7:30-10:30 p.m. and Woodside Road and Bay Road from 11:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.

Funding for this checkpoint was provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, police said. (Shutterstock)

Police said they cited 20 drivers for operation a vehicle without a license or with a suspended or revoked license, evaluated seven drivers for a DUI and contacted or screen around 750 vehicles.
