2 Suspects Accused In Redwood City Of Catalytic Converter Theft

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Two suspects were arrested in Redwood City on Monday on suspicion of stealing a catalytic converter.

Janci Vasquezcarillo, 20, and Jose Rodriguezhernandez, 34, were stopped for a traffic violation early Monday morning. Officers saw a blade protruding from Vasquezcarillo’s jacket pocket, and a subsequent search revealed an automatic catalytic converter with Toyota engravings that “appeared to have been cut off at one end and unbolted from the other,” according to a news release.

Police also found an automatic floor jack, a drill/impact gun and an additional saw blade, they said.
