3-Alarm Fire Spreads To 4 Buildings In Redwood City

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Dozens of firefighters worked Tuesday to extinguish a fire burning multiple buildings in Redwood City.

Authorities confirmed a fire response near 300 Popular Avenue shortly after noon. In a later update, city officials said four structures were involved in the blaze and 60 to 70 firefighters were at the scene after the response was upgraded to a third alarm.

Officials asked students at Fair Oaks Elementary and nearby neighbors to shelter in place while smoke was in the area. The fire's cause remains under investigation, and details about the level of damage caused were not immediately available.
