Accused Car Burglar Caught In Portola Valley: Police

Officials said a man linked to a recent burglary was caught after deputies noticed him looking into unoccupied vehicles in Portola Valley.

PORTOLA VALLEY, CA — An accused car burglar was arrested Friday in Portola Valley after deputies spotted a man snooping around vehicles in a parking lot, according to the sheriff's office.

Investigators said deputies were patrolling a parking lot at Windy Hill around 11 a.m. Friday when they noticed someone looking into unoccupied vehicles. Deputies approached the man and noted he matched the description of a suspect linked to an auto burglary from several weeks prior.

According to the sheriff's office, the man was carrying burglary tools when he was arrested. Investigators identified the suspect as Jeiner Ocampo Quintero, 39, of San Francisco. He was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on suspicion of auto burglary, tampering with a vehicle and possession of burglary tools.
