Alleged Thrift Shop Burglar Caught Wearing Stolen Clothes: Police
Police allege a Redwood City man stole thousands of dollars in merchandise from a Savers store.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — A man accused of breaking into a Redwood City thrift store and stealing thousands of dollars in merchandise was arrested while wearing some of the items he stole, according to police.
Officers arrived at the Savers on Main Street a few minutes before 6 a.m. Thursday to investigate a reported burglary. According to investigators, someone smashed a window and entered the store overnight, taking an estimated $7,500 in inventory.
According to police, the suspect was caught on video surveillance and was easy to identify despite attempts to conceal his appearance. Police said they arrested the suspect a few hours later at a nearby encampment, and additional stolen items were recovered nearby.

The 51-year-old suspect was booked into jail on suspicion of burglary, vandalism and possession of stolen property.
