America's Most Expensive Zip Code Is In The Bay Area

The Northern California code took the top spot for the fifth year in a row.

ATHERTON, CA — America’s most expensive zip code is in the Bay Area, according to a recent analysis from RealtyHop.

Atherton code 94027 took the top spot for the fifth year in a row, with a median price of $7.75 million, according to the report. It was followed by Miami Beach code 33109 in Florida at $6.1 million and Sagaponack code 11962 in New York at just under $6 million.

To determine the country’s costliest zip codes, RealtyHop analyzed over 3 million for-sale listings in its database from Jan. 1 to Oct. 15, sorting them by zip code and ranking the codes by median list price.

The real estate website described Atherton as a community that “resides in the heart of Silicon Valley and boasts large, luxurious homes.”

California’s second-most expensive zip code is Newport Coast code 92657 at $4.97 million, and Santa Barbara code 93108 is third at $4.85 million.
