SAN CARLOS, CA — A suspect was arrested early Thursday morning in connection with a stabbing that left the victim hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office said.
Gabino Garcia, 25, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and booked into San Mateo County Jail, the Sheriff’s Office said.
The victim is expected to survive.

Deputies at around 1:10 a.m. Thursday responding to the 600 block of El Camino Real on the report of a stabbing found the victim in the street with multiple wounds to their torso, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Garcia was immediately detained after the victim and several witnesses identified him as the suspect, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Potential witnesses and surveillance video are sought in what the Sheriff's Office said is an ongoing investigation.
