REDWOOD CITY, CA -- Baseball isn't over. Well, at least it is for the pros. But stay tuned, law enforcement, city and fire are preparing to butt heads come Dec. 16 for the inaugural Battle of the Badges.

The softball game is slated for McGarvey Field at Red Morton Park in Redwood City located at 1120 Roosevelt Ave. from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It's a fundraiser for the region's Christmas toy and book drive. Fans are asked to bring an unwrapped toy or book to support the effort that serves 500 area families.

In return, spectators will be able to view a great spectacle as staff from the San Mateo Sheriff's Department and Redwood City government take on the Redwood City Police and Fire Departments.
