Caltrain Car Strikes Vehicle On Peninsula Tracks
A Caltrain car heading northbound Thursday night struck a vehicle on the tracks in Redwood City, delaying 525 passengers on board.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- A Caltrain car heading northbound hit an empty vehicle on the tracks in Redwood City Thursday night at 6:31 p.m., delaying travelers during the primetime evening commute.
The vehicle was abandoned by the driver, Caltrain officials confirmed.
No one was hurt, including the 525 passengers on board the No. 279 train car.

Passengers were stuck for over an hour in Redwood City about 200 feet south of the Chestnut Street grade while crews cleared the wreckage.
