Caltrain to Conduct Emergency Drills Near Costco on Saturday

Those visiting Costco or who live near the store may see emergency officials and vehicles with sirens and lights in the area.

Caltrain will conduct an emergency preparedness drill on Saturday in Redwood City, an agency spokeswoman announced.

The training exercise will be conducted between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on an unused portion of track near Costco at Middlefield and Woodside roads, Caltrain spokeswoman Jayme Ackemann said.

The drill allows the transit agency to train with local public safety agencies in responding to a major rail emergency, Ackemann said.
