Chevron Gas Pump Skimming Suspect Sought By SMC Sheriff's
An employee at the Chevron in Woodside found 3 skimming devices used to retrieve credit card information, co. sheriff's deputies reported.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — San Mateo County Sheriff's deputies seek the public's help in finding suspects accused of using three skimming devices found by staffers at a Chevron gas station in Woodside.
The filling station located at 2950 Woodside Road was where an employee called in the discovery at 1:13 p.m. Monday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department reported. Deputies were dispatched to Chevron Gas Station and located the “skimming devices” used to fraudulently obtain a user's credit card information in three separate gas pump terminals.
It is unknown how long the illegal skimming devices were situated at the gas pumps prior to Monday. Sheriff’s office personnel will be following up on this case to track down further information and evidence.
