City Gives Heads-Up on Recology Labor Negotiations
The collective bargaining agreement for the city's trash/recycling vendor's unionized workers expired on Wednesday.

Recology San Mateo County, Redwood City's franchised service provider for recycling, compost and garbage collection services, is in contract negotiations with their drivers, mechanics and clerical workers. Similar negotiations are occurring between South Bay Recycling, the Shoreway Environmental Center operator, and their semi-drivers, mechanics and clerical workers.
These unionized workers are represented under collective bargaining agreements (Teamsters local 350) that expired on October 23, 2013.
As these workers are employed by Recology and South Bay Recycling, and not by the City of Redwood City, Redwood City is not a participant in the labor negotiations. The City of Redwood City will provide updates if needed if there will be any possible service disruption due to the ongoing labor negotiations.
