Cooling Off In The Redwoods: Photos Of The Day

When the weather heats up, some people instinctively head to the beach. But another option is to seek out the deep shade in the forest.

WOODSIDE, CA — The Bay Area is dialing up the heat again this week, appropriate for the middle of summer. If you're not a beach person but you want to cool off, consider Purisima Creek Redwoods Open Space Preserve, located on the western slopes of Kings Mountain in Woodside, overlooking Half Moon Bay.

Aurelija Bolsakova was there on July 7 and snapped the glorious photos shared above.
