Police Investigate San Mateo County Car Crash That Killed Cyclist
The cyclist succumbed to their injuries a day after the collision, police said.
WOODSIDE, CA — A collision involving a pickup truck and a bicycle ended with the cyclist dying Saturday in Woodside, police said.
At around 4:30 p.m. on Friday, San Mateo County Sheriff deputies said they responded to a reported traffic collision at the intersection of State Route 35 and State Route 84, which is commonly known in that area as the "Four Corners."
The crash involved the driver of a pickup truck and a cyclist, police said.

The bicyclist was transported by helicopter to Stanford Medical Center alive but in critical condition. On Saturday, the cyclist died, police said.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the family and loved ones of the cyclist who tragically lost their life in this collision,” Sheriff Christina Corpus said, “This is a heartbreaking reminder that every life on our roads is precious. We must all share the road with vigilance, respect, and care – for cyclists, pedestrians, and drivers alike.”

The San Mateo County Major Accident Investigation Team is conducting an investigation into the circumstances of the collision. The driver of the pickup truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators, police said.
