Peninsula Dating App Armed Robbery Under Investigation

Three suspects are sought in connection with the brutal beating of a male victim, authorities said.

MENLO PARK, CA — A man was brutally beaten last week in a Peninsula dating app robbery, and three suspects sought in connection with the attack remain at large, Menlo Park police said.

Officers at around 5:55 p.m. Friday responded to the 3600 block of Haven Avenue on the report of an assault with a deadly weapon, police said.

Responding officers found a 35-year-old man suffering from multiple injuries after he was pistol whipped, punched, and kicked, police said.

The victim was treated at the scene and then transported to the hospital for further medical care, police said. He was later released.

Investigators determined the victim was in his parked car with a woman he met on a dating app when when two males approached the vehicle, removed the victim from the vehicle and pistol whipped, punched and kicked him during a robbery in which they stole cash, police said.

The female willingly fled the scene with the two male suspects, police said.

The male suspects are described as adults, in their early 20s, wearing face masks, police said. One was wearing all black clothing while the other was wearing a red jacket.

One of the suspects had a handgun, police said.

The female suspect is described as being in her early 20s and was wearing reading glasses, gray sneakers and a white dress with black designs on it, police said.

The case is under investigation.
