Drone Tracks Down Teens Carrying Drugs And Ammunition: Police
Police sent out a drone to investigate a group of teens after a security guard reported they refused to leave a parking garage.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police used a drone to follow some teens who fled officers as they approached Friday, finding a variety of ammunition and drugs on them, police said.
At around 6:45 p.m. on Friday, a private security guard called the Redwood City Police Department to report about 15 teenagers were riding scooters in a public parking garage at 750 Marshall St. and refused to leave, police said.
RCPD sent out a drone to get visual confirmation of the group. As officers approached them, the teens fled and the drone followed a couple of them, locating the teens successfully.

Officers said they arrested a 17-year-old and 14-year-old and found a loaded 30-round rifle magazine, two shotgun shells, a digital scale, multiple plastic baggies, suspected cocaine and marijuana, and cash.
The teens were released to the San Mateo Youth Services Center.
