DUI Checkpoint Time And Place Announced For This San Mateo County Town
Police said they will be conducting an upcoming DUI checkpoint and have just announced when and where.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police will hold a DUI checkpoint Saturday in Redwood City and have announced the time and location, police said.
“Impaired drivers put others on the road at significant risk,” said Redwood City Chief of Police Kristina Bell. “Any prevention measures that reduce the number of impaired drivers on our roads significantly improve traffic safety.”
The Redwood City Police Department has planned a DUI checkpoint for 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Saturday at El Camino Real near Carlos Avenue and then Woodside Road near Bay Road, police said.

Police said they determine checkpoint locations based on data that shows incidents of impaired driving-related crashes.
Police are reminding the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol but also some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving. Cannabis may be legal to use in California but it is still illegal to drive under the influence, police said.
