Free Shakespeare In The Park Coming To A Close Soon In San Mateo County
This free show is available only for one more weekend.
REDWOOD CITY, CA —Free Shakespeare in the Park 2025 for the city of Redwood City will end this weekend.
The fina shows of Shakespeare's “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” will be at 6 p.m. on Aug. 23 and 24 at Red Morton Park.
In this adaptation of Shakespeare's “The Two Gentlemen of Verona,” two young men leave their simple, traditional Midwestern town for California. As they journey westward, they are confronted with their inner conflicts and seduced by the possibilities of love, success and reinvention.

The Two Gentlemen of Verona will be presented by the Festival for the second time as a Free Shakespeare in the Park production, following its 2010 staging directed by Kenneth Kelleher. It was also a popular "Shakespeare on Tour" production in 1997 and from 2005-06.
Since 1983, as part of SF Shakes' mission to make Shakespeare accessible to all, the Free Shakes program has offered productions to audiences around the SF Bay Area, with no tickets or prior Shakespeare experience required.
