Gelato With A Cop Event To Be Held In San Mateo County

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Having a cup of coffee with a cop may sound boring. How about some rich gelato to sweeten up the experience of getting to know local law enforcement and asking them about how they plan to address public safety and other neighborhood concerns?

From noon to 2 p.m. on Monday, officers from the Redwood City Police Department will be at Café Stellato located at 816 Middlefield Rd to chat with the public and answer questions just like a Coffee with a Cop event.

Launched in 2011 in Hawthorne, CA, Coffee with a Cop is a community policing initiative designed to foster trust and connection between law enforcement and the public, outside of emergency situations. This program has since expanded to all 50 states and internationally, adapting to evolving demographics and communication methods.
