Hazardous Waste Drop-Off Event Comes To Redwood City This Week

Items that can be dropped off include cleaning products, fertilizers, garden chemicals, pesticides and herbicides.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City is hosting a hazardous waste drop-off event on Saturday.

Anyone wishing to drop off items must schedule an appointment with the San Mateo County’s Household Hazardous Waste Program at smchealth.org/hhw or by calling 650-372-6200.

Items that can be dropped off include cleaning products, fertilizers, garden chemicals, pesticides and herbicides. There is a limit of 10 gallons or 50 pounds per car load and no commercial waste is allowed.

Collected waste will be reused, recycled or properly disposed to achieve zero waste, with a goal of preventing any items from going into the landfill and contaminating water and soil.
