Job Fair Scheduled At Redwood City's Maple Street Correctional Center
People incarcerated at the correctional center will have an opportunity to interview with employers like Starbucks.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office is hosting an employment fair for people incarcerated at Redwood City’s Maple Street Correctional Center who are about to re-enter the community after completing work readiness classes.
The fair, scheduled for May 17, will include employers like Starbucks, Action Towing and Urban Logistics.
Those chosen for interviews will take part in classes that include resume preparation and mock interviews.

“It is important to work with the justice-involved population while they are still incarcerated to
prepare them for reentering society,” San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos G. Bolanos said. “The ASPIRE Employment Opportunity Fair reflects our commitment to the County’s continuum of services to this population. Entering or returning to the workforce is a key to successful reentry.”
The interviewees will be able to dress up and out of their jail-issued clothing for the interviews, according to the sheriff’s office.
