Loaded Guns, Drugs Found On Couple In San Mateo County: Police

Police said they were following up on an investigating into a negligent gun discharge.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Police said they searched a Redwood City boyfriend and girlfriend's cars and home, finding loaded guns, drugs and ghost gun parts Wednesday.

At around 11:51 a.m. on Wednesday, Redwood City Police Department officers said they were conducting a follow up investigation connected to a negligent gun discharge when they encountered Redwood City residents Zheng Fang, 27, and later searched the car of his girlfriend Yixuan Wang, 25.

Police said when they contacted Fang there was a loaded handgun in plain view where he had been seated in his car. Officers said they arrested Fang and searched his vehicle, discovering two additional guns, drug paraphernalia and suspected methamphetamine.

Police said they then contacted Wang and searched her car, finding more drug paraphernalia and components to a ghost gun. Officers said they then searched the couple's home and found more guns, ammunition, and equipment used for manufacturing guns, along with several incomplete firearms.

Both suspects were booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility on several weapons charges, police said.
