Bay Area Man Caught Trying To Film Woman In Bathroom

Witnesses said the suspect fled the scene before police arrived.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — A 32-year-old man was arrested Wednesday after he attempted to film a woman in a bathroom stall in Redwood City and was confronted by her husband and other family members before fleeing, police said.

At around 2:45 p.m. on Sunday, Redwood City Police Department officers said they responded to a report of man, later identified as Wilson Velasquez Martinez, 32, entering the women's restroom at Red Morton Park and tried to record a 32-year-old Vacaville woman in a stall.

Police said the woman screamed for help and her husband along with other family members confronted Martinez but he fled in a blue Honda Fit before officers arrived.

On Wednesday, police said they found and arrested Martinez. He was booked into the San Mateo County Maguire Correctional Facility.
