Mountain Lion Attacks Dog At Woodside Home: San Mateo Co. Sheriff
The dog is expected to make a full recovery after the homeowners said a mountain lion climbed over a six-foot fence and attacked the dog.

WOODSIDE, CA — A mountain lion attacked a family’s dog at their home in Woodside on Wednesday night.
According to the San Mateo County Sheriff’s Department, the dog is expected to make a full recovery from its injuries after the homeowners said a mountain lion climbed over a six-foot fence onto their property and began attacking the dog around 9:45 p.m.
One of the dog’s owners drove onto the lawn and honked at the mountain lion to scare it off, the department’s spokesperson, Rosemerry Blankswade, said in a video statement.

The department is working with the California Department of Fish and Wildlife to monitor the situation but believes it was an isolated incident. Officials didn't comment on whether the mountain lion had been found.
