New HQ For San Mateo Co. Sheriff Breaks Ground In Redwood City
The project will add a fifth floor to the existing 42,000-square foot Old Maguire Facility, as well as enclose the fourth floor.
REDWOOD CITY, CA — The San Mateo County Sheriff’s Office broke ground on a new headquarters on Wednesday in Redwood City.
The project will add a fifth floor to the existing 42,000-square foot Old Maguire Facility, as well as enclose the fourth floor. Sheriff’s employees currently working on the third floor will move into the new building.
“The new headquarters will be a significant and lasting step forward for the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office,” San Mateo County Sheriff Carlos Bolanos said in a statement.

The building will be named after John Arrillaga Sr., who recently died but contributed a substantial donation to the project.
