Do Not Throw Away: Art from Recology San Francisco’s Artist in Residence Program

The Cañada College Art Gallery continues its Spring, 2013 season with Do Not Throw Away: Art from Recology San Francisco’s Artist in Residence Program, a unique presentation of artworks made from recycled materials, videos, digital images, and photographs by artists including Alex Nichols, Adrienne Pao, Lauren Scott, Bill Russell, Cherie Johnson, Linda Raynsford, Ethan Estess, Sharon Siskin, Dio Mendoza, David Hevel, and Nomi Talisman.
On view from Tuesday, April 16 through Thursday May 9th, 2013. An opening reception will be held on Wednesday, April 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Sequoia H.S. Cheer Team Tryouts
Tuesday, April 16; 4 p.m.
Sequoia High School, 1201 Brewster Ave, Redwood City
The Sequoia Cheer Team is a NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP program. The squad just won 1st place at USA Spirit Nationals for the first time in school history. All boys and girls who are interested in joining the team need to attend an info meeting (mandatory) on April 16th either during lunch or at 4:00 in the small gym. The team is not only competitive, but very involved in school and community events.

Earth Day on the Bay 2013

The Marine Science Institute is honoring Planet Earth with our Earth Day on the Bay event on Saturday, April 20. This all day event is filled with family-friendly events geared towards providing fun, memorable, and meaningful experiences to bond you with San Francisco Bay, and the planet.
We throw open our doors to the public just once a year so we have packed in a terrific variety of watery ways to have fun and learn about our treasured San Francisco Bay. Admission is free!
