Peninsula Armed Robber Injures 1: Cops

The suspect sought in connection with the robbery of two Peninsula women remains at large, according to police.

MENLO PARK, CA — A Peninsula woman was injured in an armed robbery Wednesday night that involved two victims, Menlo Park police said.

The robbery near the railroad tracks at Bayfront Expressway (Highway 84) was reported at around 7:15 Wednesday, police said.

Responding officers located the victims, both East Palo Alto women in their 30s, in the 1300 block of Willow Road, police said.

The victims were walking west on the 1500 block of Willow Road near the railroad tracks when the suspect approached the two victims from behind and forcefully removed their personal property, according to police.

The suspect is described as a man around 5-foot-10 to 6-foot who was dressed in all black with a black ski mask, police said.

The suspect, who brandished a gun, allegedly elbowed one of the victims in her stomach, knocking her to the ground, police said.

The suspect got away after taking a purse and a backpack containing cash and other times, police said.

The suspect fled toward the marshland area off Willow Road, police said.

One victim was transported to the hospital with a complaint of pain to her stomach, but was later released, police said.
