Peninsula Authorities Deem Chemical Near School Not Hazardous
Residents near Everest Public High School in North Fair Oaks were asked to shelter-in-place.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Authorities were on the scene of a suspected hazardous chemical found near Everest Public High School in North Fair Oaks, an unincorporated area near Redwood City, on Friday.
After a couple of hours, the chemical was found "not to be hazardous" and the area was opened.
Both the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office and the Menlo Park Fire District investigated the situation, according to a tweet.

Those living on the 400 block of 4th Avenue or 5th Avenue were asked to shelter-in-place.
