Suspected Peninsula DUI Crash Injures 2

SAN MATEO, CA — The suspect in a Peninsula suspected DUI crash over the weekend that injured two people has been arrested, police said.

The suspect failed a field sobriety test and was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the San Mateo Police Department said.

The victims were transported to an area hospital with minor-to-moderate injuries, police said.

The crash occurred Saturday night in the area of El Camino Real and Hobart Avenue, police said.

“Let this be a reminder that no one is safe from a drunk driver,” San Mateo police wrote on the agency’s Facebook page.

“Always designate a sober driver if you are enjoying your weekend with libations. The alternative is a trip to the hospital, or worse yet, the morgue 💀. It’s never worth the risk!”
