Peninsula Man Arrested, Accused Of Attempted Murder

According to police, the victim had called 911 to report being beaten in a motel room on Sunday.

REDWOOD CITY, CA -- A 36-year-old man was arrested Sunday on suspicion of attempted murder after Redwood City police officers responded to a 4:33 p.m. call involving a woman severely beaten in a motel room.

Officers took the call leading them to room No. 220 at the Capri Motel on the 2300 block of El Camino Real from the victim saying she was "hurt really bad." When officers located the victim, they saw she was bleeding profusely from the head. The victim told officers she had been assaulted by Scott Thompson, who had fled the scene.

Officers located the suspect walking on northbound El Camino Real. He was booked into San Mateo County Jail. The victim was transported to Stanford Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
