Peninsula Rape Suspect Accused Of Furnishing Alcohol To 15-Year-Old
Luis Garcia Guzman, 18 of Half Moon Bay, was arrested on suspicion of forcible rape with an impaired victim, authorities said.
SAN MATEO COUNTY, CA — A Peninsula man accused of sexually assaulting an underage female victim was arrested Thursday, the San Mateo County Sheriff’s office said.
Luis Garcia Guzman, 18 of Half Moon Bay, was arrested on suspicion of forcible rape with an impaired victim among other charges, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Garcia Guzman was booked into the Maguire Correctional Facility.

The alleged victim is 15, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators believe the crime occurred numerous times between December 2021 and February of this year in various locations throughout Half Moon Bay.

Garcia Guzman was known to the victim, the Sheriff’s Office said.
“During the investigation, Detectives learned prior to sexually assaulting the 15-year-old female victim, Luis Garcia Guzman would furnish alcohol to the minor to the level of impairment,” the agency said in a statement.
The arrest culminated a probe that began in May by deputies assigned to Coast Side Patrol.
“Detectives have also learned Garcia Guzman has used social media to communicate with the victim,” the agency said.
“Detectives are further investigating inappropriate and illicit messaging between Garcia Guzman and juvenile females through social media.
On July 28, 2022, Sheriff’s Detectives arrested Garcia Guzman and booked him into the
Maguire Correctional Facility.
“Due to Garcia Guzman facing multiple allegations of sexual assault and known contact with other juveniles through social media, there is concern for the potential other victims who may not yet have come forward,” the agency said.
