CA Tree Trimmer Dies After Falling Into Wood Chipper

The man was already dead when help arrived, police said.

MENLO PARK, CA — A California tree trimmer died after falling into a chipper Tuesday afternoon, Menlo Park police said.

Officers in this community on the San Francisco peninsula responded at around 12:50 p.m. to the 900 block of Peggy Lane on the report of the fall, police said.

The victim was dead when officers arrived on the scene, according to police. Menlo Park Fire Protection District and the San Mateo County Coroner’s Office also responded.

The 900 block of Peggy Lane remained closed as officers completed their investigation.

Cal/OSHA Division of Occupational Safety and Health will investigate the death.
