REDWOOD CITY, CA — An ideal partnership is being forged for a dual recreation-oriented center to benefit Redwood City residents and visitors wanting to care for two deserving populations — seniors and veterans.

The Veterans Memorial Senior Center/Sequoia YMCA project is being reviewed by the Redwood City, with the local government's Architectural Advisory Committee hosting a hearing to discuss the development of Phase 1 of the new joint facility. The meeting is slated for Sept. 5 at 6:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall located at 1017 Middlefield Road.

Phase 1 of the Veterans Memorial Building/Senior Center encompasses a two-story building amounting to about 45,000 square feet, which will include a 270-seat theater, gym, second-story outdoor track, multipurpose rooms and exhibit space for branches of the armed services.
