Redwood City 2020 will host a Family Fun Day at Kennedy Middle School on Saturday to celebrate the city’s Safe Routes to School Program.
The event will feature a mini obstacle course, so bikers can learn to cruise through physical challenges that simulate real life traffic jams.
Kids can climb the rock wall that will be set up, or ride a blender bike that highlights the power of the pedal.
Parents can learn ways to keep their child healthy and safe at workshops that will be held to talk about the Safe Routes to School Program.
The Safe Routes to School program is designed to increase awareness of multi-modal transportation and encourage children to walk and bike to school through educational programs. The event is from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Kennedy Middle School, which is located at 2521 Goodwin Avenue.
Event organizers encourage children to bring their own bikes and helmets.
