King moved to Redwood City in 1958 and worked for the San Mateo County Probation Department, according to an obituary posted in the San Mateo Daily Journal. She was described as a “voracious reader” and a regular volunteer at the Kaiser Hospital and Main Library Downtown. She was also “fond of children's issues, and desired to see them benefited in some way.”
