Redwood City To Host Virtual Black History Poetry Celebration

The event, moderated by Bakari Thompson and sponsored by Friends of the Redwood City Public Library, will feature local poets.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City is hosting a virtual poetry celebration of Black History Month on Thursday.

The event, moderated by Bakari Thompson and sponsored by Friends of the Redwood City Public Library, will feature local poets Kalamu Chaché and Lois Fried.

Chaché has been the East Palo Alto Poet Laureate since 1983. Fried is a member of the California State Poetry Society and a regular at open mics at the Belmont Poetry Night in Belmont and Café Zoe in Menlo Park.
