Redwood City's Sequoia Hospital Funds $133K To Local Nonprofits

The five San Mateo County organizations have "a proven track record of affecting change," according to the hospital's president.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City is providing nearly $133,000 in grants to five San Mateo County community-based organizations.

The recipients were: the LifeMoves Homeless Outreach Team (HOT) Program, the Acknowledge Alliance Collaborative Counseling Program, Operation Access, Sonrisas Dental Health’s School Screening Program and the Whole Health for Youth (WHY) Initiative.

“Each of these organizations has a proven track record of affecting change both meaningful and measurable for the most vulnerable populations in our community,” said Bill Graham, Sequoia Hospital president.

“As a result of partnerships like this, local community clinic patients have an improved quality of life and ability to work, as they find relief from pain and disability,” said Jason Beers, the president and CEO of Operation Access. “Overcoming barriers to accessing health services promotes equity for immigrants and other people who lack access to affordable health insurance.”
