Ribbon Ceremony To Celebrate Redwood City Street Improvements

The project increases safety for pedestrians and bicyclists on Middlefield Road between Maple Street and Woodside Road.

REDWOOD CITY, CA — Redwood City will host a ribbon cutting ceremony next Monday to celebrate completion of a utility and streetscape project on Middlefield Road between Maple Street and Woodside Road.

The project increases safety for pedestrians and bicyclists, according to the city.
Construction on the project began in 2019. It included adding underground facilities for telecommunication lines and equipment, as well as making Streetscape improvements.

Sidewalks were replaced and curb ramps, crosswalks, protected bicycle lanes and street lights were added.

Golden Bay Construction, Seton Pacific Construction, Pinnacle Power, West Valley, AT&T and Comcast were among the contractors that worked on the project.

The ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the corner of Middlefield Road and Cassia Street.
